In July 1974, William Prater announced the establishment of the Prater Funeral Home in Leesburg, Ohio, with the purchase of the Ellis residence at 73 E. Main Street. This announcement followed his year and a half of managing the Patterson Funeral Home, where he had been serving the Leesburg and surrounding communities. The new funeral home was set to offer comprehensive funeral services, along with emergency and convalescent ambulance services. Prater assured the community that funeral service arrangements would continue uninterrupted during the building’s transition. Further research needs completed to verify when the funeral home closed or exchanged hands.
The location is home of the current Turner Funeral Home.
